Just Write Books is operated from the home of the publisher, Nancy E. Randolph. That's me.  My spouse and I live in a two-bedroom condo. My commute is very short and the atmosphere is great.  The downside could be that I might be drawn away from work by keeping the house tidy and clean.

That doesn't happen because we have a cleaning person coming in once a week.  I've paid for housecleaning since I was a young Navy Journalist in Japan and living in the barracks and could afford $20 twice a month have a Japanese woman come in and clean, change the sheets and air out the room.

So, recently after my previous cleaning person contracted the miles from home that she would work, I hired a more local cleaning firm that was just starting out and I'm training the person who is cleaning for me.

But I'm lucky, I have a list.  I thought I might share it with people who have a home office. It lets you or someone else do the work once a week and then you can concentrate on your business.

The caveat is that I pickup messes as they are made and my spouse and I have the same level of cleanliness/neatness barometer. We both served in the Navy—I know I was always a neatnik from the time I was a kid growing up in a house with 9 messy siblings and a mother that didn't know how to keep house. (She cleaned other people's houses—go figure.)
